OUR STORY

Rooted in Family

For more than 35 years, Gypso has been shaped by curiosity, hard work, and a family willing to take a chance on something completely new.

What started as a small weekend project eventually became our life’s work, and the farm we are proud to continue growing today.

Our beginnings

It started with curiosity.

Our founders, Raúl and María Inés, came from two completely different worlds.

Raúl was an architect. María Inés was an entrepreneur running a thriving preschool. Neither came from the flower industry.

But they were always curious.

At the small farm where our family spent weekends and holidays, they were constantly trying something new , growing apples, experimenting with grapes to make wine, and looking for what else the land could become.

Flowers were simply the next idea.

While keeping their full-time jobs, they began growing Gypsophila on the farm as a side project.
At first, it was just another experiment.

Then came an opportunity that changed everything.

TAKING THE LEAP

And suddenly, it became much more.

An American group approached them with a proposal to grow Gypsophila together.

What began as a partnership soon became something they believed in enough to completely change their lives.

Raúl left architecture. María Inés sold her preschool. Together, they decided to take full ownership of the business and dedicate themselves entirely to the farm.

Raúl took the lead on the business and administration. Ine found her place in the fields, bringing an instinct for growing, an eye for detail, and a vision that continues to influence Gypso today.

There was no master plan.

Just a lot of work, curiosity, and the willingness to keep learning.

Growing together

Years later, their three children, Raúl, Lorena and Rafael,  joined the family business.

Today, Gypso has grown far beyond those first rows of Gypsophila, but in many ways we are still doing exactly what our parents did from the beginning:

trying new things, taking chances, and growing something we believe in.
